Nyasa Big Bullets board of trustees have bowed down to pressure and called for an Extra-ordinary General Meeting (EGM) to resolve issues haunting the team.<\/p>\n
The EGM follows a 21- day ultimatum which Bullets supporters presented to the trustees on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Trustees General Secretary, Jim Kalua, said they have no choice but to hold the EGM either on July 30 or 31 to avoid sending the team into disrepute.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to sort out the issue once and for all. If we delay further, we fear that the repercussions will be dire,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to Kalua, the EGM\u2019s agenda items will include club ownership, strategy master plan adoption, reports from executive and filling vacant positions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese are some of the contentious issues which need to be ironed out. We need a clear direction in terms of club ownership. There was also a proposal to have Nyasa Manufacturing Company buy-out the club. Delegates will have to deliberate to make resolutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
However, Kalua said only registered supporters would be allowed to attend the EGM.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnly registered members and I emphasise, only those with cards. They better buy cards now by depositing the money to Bullets Card Collection account to any FDH Branch. The account number is 686549737001 and then the slip to, Electrocard. The cards range from K2,500, K5,000, K10,000, K20000 and K50,000,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Bullets supporters\u2019 committee chairperson, Stone Mwamadi, said they were waiting for official communication after the petition.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the EGM is within the 21 days, we have no problem. It is painful that we are taking long to resolve some of these issues,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Bullets players have resumed training after a day-long boycott over unpaid signing-on fee estimated at K42 million.<\/p>\n
The players had shunned training on Tuesday following the executive committee\u2019s failure to meet June 30 deadline over the fees.<\/p>\n
The Peoples\u2019 Team captain, Chiukepo Msowoya, confirmed yesterday that the players met on Tuesday evening to discuss the matter ahead of crucial TNM Super League assignments this weekend in Lilongwe against Kamuzu Barracks on Saturday and Civo United on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Msowoya said supporters assured them that they will resolve their grievances through a meeting with sponsor, Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have agreed to go back to training realising that this team belongs to the supporters and not an individual. You must know that we are not part of what the supporters did by dragging the officials to task through a petition which was submitted to trustees\u2019 chairperson James Busile,\u201d Msowoya explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are doing their own business and we are also doing ours. We work in order to gain something, so if we are not receiving our money where are we going to get it? We believe that once they sort out our dues, we will deliver the goods and win the league.\u201d<\/p>\n
