{"id":27155,"date":"2016-06-30T13:26:54","date_gmt":"2016-06-30T11:26:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=27155"},"modified":"2016-06-30T13:26:54","modified_gmt":"2016-06-30T11:26:54","slug":"malawi-mozambique-partner-to-boost-revenue-collection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/06\/30\/malawi-mozambique-partner-to-boost-revenue-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"Malawi, Mozambique partner to boost revenue collection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) says the Government of Malawi and Mozambique have reached an agreement which will see MRA and the Mozambique Revenue Authority signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate effectiveness on matters relating to revenue collection.<\/p>\n<p>MRA publicist, Steve Kapoloma, has confirmed that a delegation from the Mozambican Revenue Authority led by its Chairperson, Amelia Nakhare, is already in the country to sign the deal which is a follow-up to an already existing agreement signed in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>When complete, the agreement will ease sharing of information related to revenue collection between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the issues that the MoU will look at is the third country view rights where we would be given access to the systems and determine what kind of goods are coming in the country from Mozambique which will help us to deal with challenges such as smuggling,\u201d Kapoloma said.<\/p>\n<p>Kapoloma further indicated that the development will help to reduce operational cost and ease congestion at border posts between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is part of the regional integration drive which is aimed at easing trade between countries and this partnership will seek to strengthen the relations between the two institutions to respond to our various needs,\u201d said Kapoloma.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) says the Government of Malawi and Mozambique have reached an agreement which will see MRA and the Mozambique Revenue Authority signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate effectiveness on matters relating to revenue collection.
