{"id":26987,"date":"2016-06-28T12:33:43","date_gmt":"2016-06-28T10:33:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=26987"},"modified":"2016-06-28T12:33:43","modified_gmt":"2016-06-28T10:33:43","slug":"toyota-commits-k6m-to-qech-paediatric-wards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/06\/28\/toyota-commits-k6m-to-qech-paediatric-wards\/","title":{"rendered":"Toyota commits K6m to QECH paediatric wards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Toyota Malawi has made a donation of medical supplies worth over K6 million to the paediatric department of the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH).<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Toyota Malawi General Manager for Aftersales, Andrew Katimba, said the donation forms part of Toyota Malawi\u2019s Corporate Social Responsibility programme which focuses on health, environment, road safety and education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe pay a lot of attention to the health category, especially supporting paediatric needs because we realise that most of the challenges that the health sector faces sit in the paediatric wards. We feel duty bound to support this area because we realise that children are key to the future well-being of the Malawi economy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>And Principal Health Services Administrator at QECH, Chikumbutso Tambala, thanked Toyota for the donation describing it as a timely intervention which will help reduce the challenges the hospital is facing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe health sector has been hit hard by the withdrawal of donor support and QECH has not been spared.
