President Peter Mutharika has said his government will provide security to investors in Malawi.<\/p>\n
Mutharika made the remarks in Lilongwe Tuesday during the official opening of Malawi-China Investment Forum.<\/p>\n
He said his government is focusing on developing the private sector in order to create more jobs.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur actions in developing the private sector speak for themselves. We have set in motion a process of implementing public sector reforms to create a new business culture in Malawi. These are reforms that will ease your journey to investment prosperity,\u201d Mutharika said.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cRest assured, my government is set to provide security of your investment, life and property. This includes flexibility in repatriation of profits without exploiting Malawi.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other measures Mutharika said his government has put in place to woo investors include the establishment of one-stop centre to speed up investment process, liberalisation of the exchange rate, upgrading of electricity generation and transportation corridors.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne thing is clear. We have the right business vision, we have taken the right steps, and we are heading for the right direction. There is no doubt. We will continue to improve the competitiveness of Malawi as an investment destination the world must admire,\u201d Mutharika said.<\/p>\n
The investors who are interested to invest in the fields of industry, agriculture and education came from China\u2019s Anhui Province.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
