{"id":26370,"date":"2016-06-17T12:15:13","date_gmt":"2016-06-17T10:15:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=26370"},"modified":"2016-06-17T12:15:13","modified_gmt":"2016-06-17T10:15:13","slug":"wizards-fc-kips-form-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/06\/17\/wizards-fc-kips-form-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"Wizards FC, Kips form partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Super League side, Wizards FC, have partnered Kips Restaurant for the restaurant to be providing free food to the club on match days.<\/p>\n<p>The one-year partnership was sealed Thursday in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>Kips Group of Companies Managing Director, Waseem Giga, said the company would spend K2 million during the one-year deal as it seeks to assist Wizards do well in the Super League.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWizards are a good team and we thought it was important to assist them through provision of food during match days. It is also one way of our social responsibility. Our expectation is that the team should do well. If they do that we may even come with bigger sponsorship next season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Giga added that some of Wizards\u2019 players would be used for advertising Kips Restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a win-win situation. They go across the country to play football, therefore, we want to be visible as a business through them. We want to get more recognition by partnering them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Wizards FC\u2019s General Secretary, Patrick Chimimba, said the coming in of Kips was a huge relief to the club since they are struggling in the absence of sponsorship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the major expenses is food. We are now assured of good diet and good health of our players. The good thing is that Kips Restaurants are in all the major cities of the countries where we go to play our games. We will not have any problems,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Chimimba said they would do their utmost to help in promoting the Kips brand through various initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have many other needs as a team, including transportation and players\u2019 wages. We appeal to other companies and individuals to come in and partner us so that we could ease our problems. The team needs support to do well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Wizards have started the 2016 season on a good note after notching three wins in seven matches to lie 11th on the standings with 11 points from seven matches.<\/p>\n<p>In its four years of existence, the club has produced national team players such as Brighton Munthali, Rafik Namwera, Ernest Tambe, Levison Maganizo and Isaac Mwale who played for the Junior Flames.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Super League side, Wizards FC, have partnered Kips Restaurant for the restaurant to be providing free food to the club on match days.
