{"id":26363,"date":"2016-06-17T12:13:06","date_gmt":"2016-06-17T10:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=26363"},"modified":"2016-06-17T12:13:06","modified_gmt":"2016-06-17T10:13:06","slug":"atusaye-nyondos-team-relegated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/06\/17\/atusaye-nyondos-team-relegated\/","title":{"rendered":"Atusaye Nyondo\u2019s team relegated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Striker Atusaye Nyondo\u2019s University of Pretoria FC, also known as Ama Tuks, have been relegated from South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL).<\/p>\n<p>The relegation was confirmed on Wednesday after Highlands Park FC beat Mbombela United 2-0 to earn promotion to the top-flight league.<\/p>\n<p>Tuks had a chance to reclaim their PSL status through play-offs, but Park\u2019s victory over Mbombela has rendered Pretoria\u2019s two remaining games irrelevant.<\/p>\n<p>This means that Nyondo has joined compatriot Micium Mhone in the National First Divi s ion. Mhone\u2019s Jomo Cosmos were also relegated from the PSL.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a tough season for us but such things happen in football. We just need to work hard next season to retain our PSL status,\u201d Nyondo said in a telephone interview from South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Ama Tuks were promoted to the PSL in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Nyondo joined the university team from SuperSport United on a three-year deal in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In the National First Division, Nyondo finished as the top goal scorer with 13 goals when playing for Carara Kicks before switching to SuperSport in 2011.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Striker Atusaye Nyondo\u2019s University of Pretoria FC, also known as Ama Tuks, have been relegated from South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL).
