After souring with the hit Chipapapa <\/em>which he featured Nigerian superstar 2Baba formerly 2Face, artist Tay Grin is back in the limelight once again with another single Kanda <\/em>which he collaborated with Sonyezo Kandoje better known as Sonye.<\/p>\n

The song which also features another Nigerian musician Orezi was released yesterday.<\/p>\n

The song which has been fused with the Manganje traditional dance is part of Tay Grin and Sonye\u2019s forthcoming EP project they are currently working on.<\/p>\n

The trio, one by one take time to stand out with their voices in the romantic song.<\/p>\n

According to a press statement from Pencils PR, Kanda <\/em>is coming out following Tay Grin and Sonye\u2019s success with their hits Chipapapa <\/em>and Tsika respectively.<\/p>\n

Sonye\u2019s Tsika received a nomination in the 2015 Urban Music Party (UMP) Song of the Year whilst Tay Grin\u2019s Chipapapa <\/em>is currently on position three on Trace Urban Africa Top 10.<\/p>\n

The press statement said Tay Grin and Sonye decided to fuse in Manganje in Kanda <\/em>because it is one of the popular traditional dances in the Southern region and that it has been further decorated by Tay Grin\u2019s signature of Nyau music from the Central region.<\/p>\n

Tay Grin said recently that people should watch the space as 2016 was a year of great things for the country\u2019s music industry.<\/p>\n

Whilst the song stands out with Manganje and Nyau music, the roping in of Orezi has also added the Nigerian flavor to the song.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a song which will boundlessly keep Malawi and Africa on the dance-floor. The release date June 15 happens to be my birthday and this is my present to all my fans in Malawi, Africa and the rest of the world,\u201d said Tay Grin.<\/p>\n

He said Kanda <\/em>is keeping the 2016 goals alive and that they have taken time working on the song.<\/p>\n

While revealing that \u201cit was great working with Tay Grin and Orezi, Sonye said:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are putting pure Malawian sound on the international scene, bringing manganje and Nyau music to the world, and Orezi gave it that awesome Naija feel and made the song wholly African, it\u2019s a heavy song with deep rich cultural content.\u201d<\/p>\n

DJ Joy Nathu has since praised the song saying it is adventurous and interesting.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt brings out the musician in Tay Grin who does not rap but sing on the song. And he sings better than most people think he can, which shows his maturity in music. And the collabo works well too because Sonye and Orezi both did good work on their verses and I think it\u2019s tough to say who sang better than who because all three sang well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
