{"id":26132,"date":"2016-06-14T11:45:38","date_gmt":"2016-06-14T09:45:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=26132"},"modified":"2016-06-14T11:45:38","modified_gmt":"2016-06-14T09:45:38","slug":"julius-taulo-wins-aon-squash-tourney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/06\/14\/julius-taulo-wins-aon-squash-tourney\/","title":{"rendered":"Julius Taulo wins AON squash tourney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ruthless Julius Taulo provided a timely response to win AON Squash tournament after edging out James Matewere at College of Medicine Sports Complex on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Matewere had won three successive tournaments this year and he also retained the General Alliance Squash championship when he defeated Julius.<\/p>\n<p>Having beaten his brother and former number one, Aubrey Taulo, 3-2 in the semifinal, Julius was always going to be difficult to beat, but Matewere saved a match-point in the fourth game to win it 12-10 and take it to a fifth and final set.<\/p>\n<p>Three missed drop shots proved costly as Julius would not let any shot beat him. Julius won what was the best match seen in Blantyre for years 11-8 in the final game.<\/p>\n<p>Squash Malawi Vice President, Gordon Benbow, said the other highlight in this division was a super plate final between Yonah Thom and Chisomo Mwathunga.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth players threw themselves around the court and playing to exhaustion.
