The Chibuto FC forward is the second leading league scorer with seven goals from 11 games, just a goal behind the leading scorer.<\/p>\n
So far, Kawonga is the leading Malawian scorer in the league.<\/p>\n
Former Blue Eagles attacker Schumacher Kuwali is second to Kawonga with four goals also from seven games.<\/p>\n
Kawonga yesterday said he had set his sights on winning the Golden Boot Award this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is my dream to win it. I am happy with the progress of my career and I have settled well,\u201d the former Silver Strikers forward said.<\/p>\n
No Malawian player has ever won the Golden Boot Award in Mozambique.<\/p>\n
Kawonga also claims to have been named as man-of-the-match in seven games this season.<\/p>\n
Ndaziona Chatsalira and Frank Banda are other Malawian players enjoying a rich vein of form in the Mozambique top-flight league.<\/p>\n
Chatsalira has been a kingpin for Ferraviaro de Nampula, whereas Banda has guided HCB de Songo to the top of Mocambola League with 21 points from 11 games.<\/p>\n
