Former World Boxing Forum welterweight champion, Agnes Mtimaukanena-Mwando, has been cleared to face Zambian Loreta Muzeya in a World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver medal fight in the neighbouring country on August 27.<\/p>\n
Mtimaukanena\u2019s participation was thrown into doubt following her withdrawal from the national welterweight title fight against Anisha Basheer during the African Boxing Union bill in Lilongwe last month.<\/p>\n
However, Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions Director of Administration, Chris Malunga, said Mtimaukanena would be allowed to vie for the belt.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer withdrawal from the fight will not have any bearing on the WBC Silver fight. Her stable indicated that she had an injury, so we can\u2019t force a boxer when nursing an injury. Had she withdrawn from the bill on other grounds then it could have been difficult to include her on the bill,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mtimaukanena\u2019s manager, Robin Alufandika, who owns Alufandika Boxing Promotions, insisted that they cannot feature unfit boxers.<\/p>\n
