Lilongwe-based musician Skeffa Chimoto will this weekend hold shows in the Central Region.<\/p>\n
Skeffa said Thursday that it has been sometime since he held his own shows having been pre-occupied with awareness campaign shows.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was important to take part in awareness shows because as artists we are instruments that help in driving change. I should commend different organisations for valuing artists by utilising them in their different programmes,\u201d said Skeffa.<\/p>\n
He said there are a lot of issues on the ground which require the creative industry to play its role.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome organisations are doing well but others do not want to involve artists which is very unfortunate.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want to say thank you to those organisations who have entrusted me with the work of spreading different messages and others have even gone further to make me an ambassador for different campaigns,\u201d said the singer, who has revealed that he is currently in the studio working on a new album.<\/p>\n
Coming back to his shows, Skeffa will today perform at Kwa Ababa (Mwami border) between Malawi and Zambia before invading Rhino Entertainment in Mponela, Dowa.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to make sure that I hold performances in different areas. It should not only be the usual places. There are people in the rural areas, who want to experience our live shows,\u201d said Skeffa.<\/p>\n
The Lead Music celebrity for Protect the Goal campaign said he was prepared for the shows.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are prepared as usual with Real Sounds Band and we will give it our all. There are more shows coming up from me although I am also committed since I am working on a new album,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Chinamuluma Chakuda <\/em>star recently performed in United Kingdom alongside Dan Lufani and Lulu.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was an experience performing in the UK to a different audience. I hope to get more of such opportunities.
