The country\u2019s Airtel Trace Music Star representative Ruth Kulaisi-Chikoleka will be seeking nothing but the best Saturday when she battles it out with other contestants during the grand finale in Lagos, Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The Pan African contest will be held at Ultima Studio.<\/p>\n
Trace Country Representative (Malawi) Annie Chisala said she is optimistic that Ruth will do well at the Pan African contest.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll is set for the Pan African contest. We wish her all the best and we are sure she will do well,\u201d said Chisala.<\/p>\n
She called on people to continue voting for her to stand more chances of doing well at the contest.<\/p>\n
\u201cVotes will also count during the contest so people should continue voting for Ruth,\u201d said the Trace Malawi representative.<\/p>\n
Having been represented by singer and keyboardist Sam Mjura Mkandawire in Season I, who pocketed K14 million on the local front and came sixth at the Pan African contest, the country will be looking at nothing but victory for Malawi.<\/p>\n
Ruth said before departure that she was prepared and that she will try her level best to do well.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have trained hard<\/p>\n
and prepared myself and I engaged different people to help me out on polishing my voice and other areas and so I am set and I can\u2019t wait to get on that Pan African platform for the battle,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Ruth also called on people to vote until the day of the closure.<\/p>\n
\u201cVotes will also count during the Pan African contest so I will do my part and Malawians have also got to do their part otherwise as I said I am ready,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Ruth triumphed during the local contest held in Lilongwe last month and as a winner she pocketed K10 million.<\/p>\n
Ruth will battle it out with contestants from Niger, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Zambia.<\/p>\n
The grand finale last year was held in Kenya and was won by Tanzania\u2019s Andrew Nalimi, who went on to be mentored by US artist Akon.<\/p>\n
This year the official mentor is US singer-songwriter Keri Hilson.<\/p>\n
The grand prize comprises a mentorship programme with Hilson in Atlanta, USA.<\/p>\n
