{"id":2554,"date":"2015-05-17T06:16:15","date_gmt":"2015-05-17T06:16:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=2554"},"modified":"2015-05-17T08:24:11","modified_gmt":"2015-05-17T08:24:11","slug":"veteran-journalist-raphael-tenthani-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/05\/17\/veteran-journalist-raphael-tenthani-dead\/","title":{"rendered":"Veteran journalist Raphael Tenthani dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BBC correspondent and Times Group prolific columnist Raphael Tenthani is dead.<\/p>\n<p>Tenthani died in a car accident on Saturday night, when the car he was travelling in from Ntcheu to Blantyre overturned at Kam&#8217;mwamba along M1 road.<\/p>\n<p>Tenthani who sustained serious head injuries died on arrival at Mlambe Hospital, as he had lost a lot of blood.<\/p>\n<p>He\u00a0traveled to his home village with his with his brother, two children and personal friend.<\/p>\n<p>The other four sustained various injuries during the accident.<\/p>\n<p>His two children are admitted to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>Tenthani was well-known for his popular column &#8220;Muckraking on Sunday&#8221; that appeared in The Sunday Times.<\/p>\n<p>His body is at College of Medicine and burial is expected to take place tomorrow (Monday) at his home village Sharpe Valley in Ntcheu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BBC correspondent and Times Group prolific columnist Raphael Tenthani is dead.
