{"id":2532,"date":"2015-05-16T08:10:26","date_gmt":"2015-05-16T08:10:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=2532"},"modified":"2015-05-16T08:10:26","modified_gmt":"2015-05-16T08:10:26","slug":"big-bullets-dodge-k15m-nsanzurwimo-ramadhan-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/05\/16\/big-bullets-dodge-k15m-nsanzurwimo-ramadhan-lawsuit\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Bullets dodge K15m Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Troubled Big Bullets backtracked on its earlier stance to terminate Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan\u2019s contract to avoid a lawsuit that could have attracted a penalty of about K14.5 million, the Malawi News can reveal.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets stakeholders held an indaba last month in Lilongwe where they agreed to sack Ramadhan because of various factors ranging from huge salary and the procedure of his appointment.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Peoples Team failed to fire Ramadhan after realising legal flaws in his contract that could have seen Bullets compensating Ramadhan with about K14.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>This could have further plunged the club in deep financial woes<\/p>\n<p>One of Ramadhan\u2019s representative, Kelvin Moyo, confirmed that if Bullets had terminated the Burundian\u2019s contract then he was supposed to pocket about K14.5 million through compensation or court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBullets officials realised this and they felt engaging us will solve the impending crisis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, despite agreeing a 30 percent cut on his salary, Ramadhan is yet to get paid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring our discussions we agreed that Ramadhan should be paid his monthly arrears from January to April using the terms of the previous contract. But up to now he hasn\u2019t been paid,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Moyo also revealed that Bullets were yet to present a draft contract they intend to offer to Ramadhan.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets intend to offer Ramadhan another contract to address serious technical flaws that were noted in the first contract.The initial contract had no performance related clause which is in sharp contrast with the demands of modern football.<\/p>\n<p>This meant that Ramadhan could have walked away at the end of his three-year contract even if Bullets misfired during his tenure.It has been an issue surrounding Ramadhan\u2019s wages, as speculations suggest that he was getting monthly wages between K400,000 to K600,000.
