{"id":25119,"date":"2016-05-27T11:43:13","date_gmt":"2016-05-27T09:43:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=25119"},"modified":"2016-05-27T11:43:13","modified_gmt":"2016-05-27T09:43:13","slug":"zimbabwe-name-strong-squad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/05\/27\/zimbabwe-name-strong-squad\/","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwe name strong squad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Zimbabwe\u2019s Warriors have named a star-studded squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Group L qualifier against the Flames on June 4 at Harare National Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>According to Zimbabwe media reports, the squad comprises five Europe-based stars, Knowledge Musona (KV Ostende Belgium), Mathews Nakamba (Vitesse Anhem, Holland), Matthew Rusike (Helsingborgs IF, Sweden), Dzikamai Gwaze (Gornik Zabrze, Poland) and Costa Nhamoinesu (Sparta Prague, Czech Republic).<\/p>\n<p>China-based Nyasha Mushekwi (Dalian Yang FC) has also made it into the squad.<\/p>\n<p>Mamelodi Sundowns FC forward Khama Biliat, Orlando Pirates\u2019 hitman Tendai Ndoro, Willard Katsande of Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows midfielder, Khuda Mahachi, have also made it.<\/p>\n<p>The Warriors are expected to tune up against Uganda on Saturday when the Flames meet Botswana en-route to Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwe lead Group L with eight points followed by Swaziland on five points, and victory against Flames will see them qualify for the next year\u2019s Afcon finals in Gabon.<\/p>\n<p>The Flames are anchoring the table with two points from four games and are still searching for their first win in the qualifiers after two draws and two losses.<\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwe\u2019s full squad: Goalkeepers: Tatenda Mukuruva (Dynamos, Zimbabwe), Donovan Bernard (How Mine), Tapiwa Chilenga (Triangle).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Defenders: <\/strong>Nhamoinesu (Sparta Prague, Czech Republic), Lawrence Mhlanga, Teenage Hadebe (both Chicken Inn, Zimbabwe), Hardlife Zvirekwi (CAPS United, Zimbabwe), Bruce Kangwa (Highlanders, Zimbabwe), Onismor Bhasera (BidVest Wits), Elisha Muroiwa (Dynamos, Zimbabwe), Blessing Moyo (Harare City, Zimbabwe)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Midfielders: <\/strong>Katsande (Kaizer Chiefs), Marvelous Nakamba (Vitesse Arnhem, Holland), Danny Phiri, Tafadzwa Kutinyu (both Chicken Inn, Zimbabwe),Mahachi (Golden Arrows), Marshall Mudehwe (FC Platinum, Zimbabwe), Farai Madhananga (Harare City, Zimbabwe), Gwaze (Gornik Zabrze, Poland)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strikers: <\/strong>Musona (KV Oostende, Belgium),Mushekwi (Dalian Yifang, China), Cuthbert Malajila, Billiat (bothMamelodi Sundowns), Evans Rusike (Maritzburg United),Rusike (Helsingborgs IF, Sweden), Ndoro (Orlando Pirates).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zimbabwe\u2019s Warriors have named a star-studded squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Group L qualifier against the Flames on June 4 at Harare National Stadium.
