A day after civil society organisations (CSO\u2019s), citizen groups, media and religious organisations declared action week against the killings of people with albinism, a 32-year -old man with albinism has been found dead in Ntcheu district.<\/p>\n
Ntcheu police spokesperson Gift Matewere confirmed the incident though no arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
Matewere further said the body of the deceased was found beheaded with private parts, arms and legs removed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe deceased went to the garden with his wife to water vegetables. Around lunch, he sent the wife home to do household chores but the wife got suspicious that he was not coming back home till 1700hrs then reported the matter to the relatives. They went to the garden to look for him but to no avail and eventually reported the matter to police.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe rushed to the scene and searched for him till we found his body dumped in reeds along Likhubula River some kilometres away from their garden,\u201d Matewere said.<\/p>\n
According to Matewere, investigations regarding the matter are being done so that the perpetrators are brought to justice.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are asking the general public to join hands with us in the fight against killings and abductions of people living with albinism in the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The deceased has been identified as Fletcher Masina of Zintambira village traditional authority Chakhumbira in Ntcheu.<\/p>\n
As it stands 18 albinos have been killed, 14 kidnapped, 3 missing and 28 graves tampered with.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
