South African flag carrier, South African Airways (SAA) has rated the first half of this year as conducive to air transport business despite a drop in customers\u2019 disposable income.<\/p>\n
SAA Sales Executive Wezi Mungoni made the observation on Thursday at the first draw of its 58- 52 promotion currently underway.<\/p>\n
Mungoni said despite challenges facing the economy and a drop in the buying power, the airline business has remained competitive in the country within the first five months of the year.<\/p>\n
She said customers have continued to fly to various destinations with SAA for instance, which gives hope for better business in the remaining half of the year.<\/p>\n
\u201cBusiness has been very well in the months and we hope that Malawians will continue to fly with us,\u201d said Mungoni.<\/p>\n
At the first draw, three SAA customers won return tickets for two each to Johannesburg, Cape Town and any other destination of their choice respectively.<\/p>\n
Several other customers also won various SAA branded material including golf shirts.<\/p>\n
Mungoni said the promotion is meant to celebrate 58 years of the airliner\u2019s operation in the country and Malawi\u2019s 52 years of independence.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe felt compelled to give back to our customers and celebrate this legacy with them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
