Be Forward Wanderers have warned midfielder-cum-striker, Jafali Chande, to be disciplined if he is to enjoy game-time at the Lali Lubani Road.<\/p>\n
The former Nyasa Big Bullets play-maker was conspicuously missing from the starting line-up when Wanderers booted out Red Lions from the Presidential Cup after a 4-3 win on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Chande alongside centre-back, Foster Namwela and goalkeeper Bester Phiri were not even picked for the game. Namwela was serving a two yellow card suspension while Phiri was left out on technical grounds.<\/p>\n
It emerged that Chande missed training on Monday and reportedly came late on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Wanderers assistant coach, Elia Kananji, explained that Chande did not feature in their plans for the Lions game.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are strict when it comes to issues concerning discipline. Every player at Wanderers, including Chande, knows the importance of reporting in good time for training,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kananji said they would be picking players that are disciplined.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will not go for names, but rather those that are disciplined,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chande claimed that he did not miss training deliberately and feared that something fishy was happening.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was not told that we had shifted our training venue on Monday. Anyway, I don\u2019t want to talk much because I think something fishy is happening. I don\u2019t think I will go to training this week again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Wanderers Team Manager, Steve Madeira, while insisting that he does not discuss players\u2019 issues in the media, said discipline was paramount for the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow come all the players reported for training except him? We have over 30 players and the technical panel will only consider players that are disciplined,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
