Mafco FC strategist, Thomas Maloya, whose tactics suffocated Be Forward Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, has attributed his charges\u2019 improved displays in the 2016 TNM Super League to a strong team-ethic.<\/p>\n
Maloya spoke in a post-match interview at the stadium after handing the expensively-assembled Wanderers a 3-2 defeat that left the Nomads with more questions than answers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWanderers are a good team. They played well, but I guess we were simply better. We knew what to expect from them and planned accordingly. There are no secrets about us. It is all about team work, we fight, defend and attack a close-knit unit,\u201d The Caf A Licence-holder, Maloya, explained.<\/p>\n
Mafco used brutal force, power, aerial balls and pace to outnumber, out-think and out-play the Nomads, who could simply not get out of their blocks.<\/p>\n
Stain Malata, Richard Mbulu and Zikhole Nguluwe scored for Mafco, whereas Jafali Chande and Boston Kabango netted for Wanderers as they suffered their first loss of the season.<\/p>\n
Wanderers assistant coach, Elia Kananji, said the defeat was costly in their charge for a first league championship in 10 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow we play games and how we train is totally different. I wish you can come and see how competitive and impressive the players are in training. It hurts so much that we play this way,\u201d Kananji said.<\/p>\n
With six points from five games, the Nomads have even tougher assignments on the road as they face Mzuni on Saturday and Moyale Barracks on Monday at Mzuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
