Balaka-based musical group Alleluya Band leaves the country next month for Italy and Poland where they are set to hold performances.<\/p>\n
The group\u2019s former leader Coss Chiwalo confirmed the development saying they are ready for the showdown in Italy and Poland.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are leaving on June 7, 2016. We will hold performances in Italy as usual but we will also go to Poland where we will perform at the World Youth Day,\u201d said the veteran musician.<\/p>\n
He said in Italy where they have been performing every year for close to nine years now, the performances are part of raising funds for different projects at Andiamo in Balaka.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn Italy we hold more performances with the aim of raising funds for projects at Andiamo and one of them is helping the hospital where children access treatment for free,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said they are expected back home on August 17, 2016.<\/p>\n
Chiwalo said they are happy to perform in Italy once again where they normally fly the country\u2019s flag.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are prepared and as usual we come up with new songs and some of the songs we performed during the launch of Sir Paul Banda\u2019s DVD in Lilongwe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chiwalo also said Malawians should look forward to fresh songs from Alleluya Band when they come back.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople think as Alleluya Band we have been dormant in terms of releasing albums but we have been producing albums only that we have not been marketing them. Now we want to concentrate on marketing and even dropping another album once we come back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chiwalo said they have always strived to give people the best and that the new album will have songs fused with different traditional dances in the country.<\/p>\n
Apart from Chiwalo, some of the members of the group set to make the trip to Italy and Poland are Gertrude Naluso, band leader Paul Subili, Mayamiko Taferakaso and Charles Mafikeng\u2019i.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
