{"id":24067,"date":"2016-05-11T10:55:45","date_gmt":"2016-05-11T08:55:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=24067"},"modified":"2016-05-11T10:55:45","modified_gmt":"2016-05-11T08:55:45","slug":"sangwani-munthali-leaving-no-stone-unturned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/05\/11\/sangwani-munthali-leaving-no-stone-unturned\/","title":{"rendered":"Sangwani Munthali leaving no stone unturned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gospel musician Sangwani Munthali is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the launch of his third album <em>Ndipulumutseni <\/em>and <em>Themba <\/em>DVD later this month.<\/p>\n<p>Having been out of the picture for some time the musician is out with his new album and wants to give out best performances during the launch in Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mzuzu.<\/p>\n<p>He will first launch the album and DVD on May 27 at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe before dating Robins Park in Blantyre the following day and then Boma Park in Mzuzu on June 4.<\/p>\n<p>Sangwani recorded his <em>Ndipulumutseni <\/em>in Namibia and his producer Derik Vilas jetted into the country last week ahead of the launch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything is set; I am excited my producer Derik is here and this is just to bring in the spirit of excellence. Derik is an engineer and so he is in just to make sure that we have a perfect sound,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sangwani said the CDs and DVDs are ready and that they will start selling soon after the launch in Lilongwe which will be spiced up by legendary musician Wambali Mkandawire.<\/p>\n<p>The musician, who made a name after releasing \u2018Mwahomwa Ya Fumu,\u2019 which saw people likening him to Wambali said he was happy that he will share the stage with his mentor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have always looked up to Wambali in everything in music including mentorship and for him to accept to perform at the launch in Lilongwe is something special,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Derik said he was happy to be in Malawi for the first time and that was looking at nothing but the best during the shows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s my first time to be in Malawi, I am excited and looking forward to Sangwani\u2019s performances.<\/p>\n<p>His music has a story, I don\u2019t understand some of the words in his songs but music is universal and listening to his sound it is deep with a message from far and above. It\u2019s good working with Sangwani and producing his music,\u201d said Derik, who has worked with several artists in Namibia.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Sangwani\u2019s music is classic and that it has a character.<\/p>\n<p>Derik then called on local artists to strive to be original and bring their picture in their works.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBe yourself and be unique and don\u2019t try to be someone else. Be original and all you need to do is be open minded because music is something you grow with,\u201d said the producer and sound engineer.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from Mwahomwa Ya Fumu, Sangwani\u2019s other album is <em>Themba<\/em>, whose DVD will be launched during the launch of <em>Ndipulumutseni.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gospel musician Sangwani Munthali is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the launch of his third album Ndipulumutseni and Themba DVD later this month.
