Despite losing thrice consecutively in the opening four TNM Super League games, Kamuzu Barracks (KB) Coach, Billy Phambala, has refused to press an early panic button.<\/p>\n
The soldiers lost 4-1 to Epac FC on Monday at Civo Stadium, just a week after they were beaten by 3-1 margins by Moyale Barracks and Mzuni FC.<\/p>\n
During the four games, the soldiers have conceded 12 goals while scoring five. KB are stuck at the bottom of the log table with a single point.<\/p>\n
But Phambala said that his troops would soon return to winning ways.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo pressure at all. This is football, we sometimes win or lose but there is no need to panic,\u201d Phambala explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to work on our problems as a team. It\u2019s just a matter of time. The team will start bringing positive results.\u201d<\/p>\n
Phambala, who was hired before the start of season after Kenwood Nkhoma was fired due to poor performance of the team, added that he has faith in his squad.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t like critising my own players. The players are working hard, but we are just going through a bad patch,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Army teams will be in a league of their own this season as they will be fighting for top three slots following Malawi Defence Force\u2019s (MDF) decision to trim their clubs in the top-flight league to three from next season.<\/p>\n
Other MDF teams in the league are Red Lions and Mafco. The least performer will be demoted to the second-tier league. For the past two weeks, Army teams have been struggling in the league.<\/p>\n
Over the weekend, Moyale lost 1-0 to Mzuni, whereas Lions were beaten 1-0 by Wizards FC at Kamuzu Stadium on Monday, a week after also falling 2-1 to Nyasa Big Bullets.
