A week after missing a penalty, Muhammad Sulumba made amends Sunday after opening his scoring account for Nyasa Big Bullets when they defeated Red Lions 2-1 at Balaka Stadium.<\/p>\n
It was a big response for Sulumba and the defending champions, Bullets, who started the TNM Super League season with a goalless draw against Moyale last week when Sulumba fluffed a penalty.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, Sulumba fired Bullets ahead in the first half, only for Kumbukani Mwambeni, who was eventually substituted for Boniface Kaulesi, to equalise for the Lions.<\/p>\n
Niyikiza Aimable, getting the nod in view of Chiukepo Msowoya\u2019s injury, restored Bullets\u2019 lead in the same opening half. The second half did not produce any goal.<\/p>\n
With that win, Bullets moved from ninth to fifth position on the log table with four points from two games, at par on points alongside teams such as sixth-positioned Civo United, who defeated Mafco 3-2 yesterday.<\/p>\n
Bullets Coach Franco Ndawa, in a post-match interview with Times Radio<\/em>, hailed his charges for sticking to the game-plan of scoring early and balancing between defending and attacking.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was not an easy game and credit should go to the players. Next week, we will face Be Forward Wanderers, but this will be a totally different game,\u201d Ndawa said, while Lions Coach Mike Kumanga accepted defeat.<\/p>\n Other teams also on four points are second, third and fourth-place Moyale, Azam Tigers and Be Forward Wanderers.<\/p>\n In other games played yesterday, Max Bullets and Dwangwa United are still searching for their first win in the league after drawing 0-0 at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n Max have two points whereas Dwangwa have one.
