After a two-month break, the 2016 Central Region Volleyball League (CRVL) season resumes Saturday with pomp and fanfare anticipated at Lilongwe Community Centre Court.<\/p>\n
To spice up the start of the league, Lilongwe\u2019s C2K Social Club has sponsored a pre-season tournament, which started last week and concludes Saturady.<\/p>\n
The conclusion has in store a potentially-nail biting final involving Kamuzu Barracks and Blue Eagles.<\/p>\n
The league\u2019s Publicity Secretary, Peter Pemba, said arrangements have been concluded ahead of the new season.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe urge volleyball fans to come in large numbers to watch exciting and entertaining action. All the teams look in shape because they have assembled good squads,\u201d Pemba said.<\/p>\n
He added that the committee is working tirelessly to find sponsorship before the end of the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a league, we have not lost hope of securing sponsorship. Several individuals and companies have shown willingness to help us. We are appealing to well-wishers to assist us to develop the sport,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
C2K Social Club-a grouping of former volleyball players\u2014 sponsored the pre-season tournament to the tune of K600, 000.<\/p>\n
C2K Director, Harold Chaika, said the pre-season tournament was just the start of good things to come from them.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have the passion for the sport and we cannot allow it to die a natural death. If funds permit, we will continue to arrange more exciting volleyball games to take the sport to another level,\u201d Chaika.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
