{"id":23036,"date":"2016-04-22T09:39:25","date_gmt":"2016-04-22T07:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=23036"},"modified":"2016-04-22T09:42:19","modified_gmt":"2016-04-22T07:42:19","slug":"neligo-womens-choir-to-launch-second-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/04\/22\/neligo-womens-choir-to-launch-second-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Neligo Womens Choir to launch second album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Living Gospel Church (Neligo) Womens Choir which has stunned people with their dance moves during their live acts will on Sunday launch their second album <em>Ndioloke <\/em>at Robin\u2019s Park in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>The group\u2019s member Pastor Triza Gunde said all was set for the launch of the 13-track album which was recorded at One Heart Studio in Lilongwe by Lloyd Phiri.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe ready and we ask people to come in large numbers and be blessed. Our bless souls with our songs as well as our dance,\u201d said Gunde.<\/p>\n<p>The group loves putting on school uniforms as if they were students and Gunde said they do this deliberately as apart from preaching the word of God, they are also advocating for women and girl education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a group we want girls to be educated and work hard in their studies and we also want women to go back to school. At the moment we are even supporting some students, paying them school fees,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Gunde said they have utilised popular genres such as House in their songs because they would want to appeal to all the generations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to minister to everyone and this is why we enjoy the songs by dancing just like what King David did,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Other artists set to perform at the launch are Mbayani Heaven Glory, Jonathan Chilinda, Wamkaka Boys, Favoured Martha, Mau K, Limbani Simenti, Thocco Katimba, Lloyd Phiri, Princess Chitsulo, George Misinde, Aubrey Kusakala and Donnex Muva.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the songs in the album are \u2018Go Konko,\u2019 \u2018Sumamva,\u2019 \u2018Talapa,\u2019 \u2018Ndampeza Yesu,\u2019 and \u2018Ndikuthokoza (Banja).<\/p>\n<p>The group was formed in 1997 and has 18 members.<\/p>\n<p>Neligo came to the limelight after releasing their debut album <em>Chikondi Chanu <\/em>which has songs such as <em>\u2018Sawona Wakuyeliko,<\/em>\u2019 <em>\u2018Yesu Ndiye Nyali,\u2019 <\/em>and <em>\u2018Wankhondo Wanga.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Living Gospel Church (Neligo) Womens Choir which has stunned people with their dance moves during their live acts will on Sunday launch their second album Ndioloke at Robin\u2019s Park in Blantyre.
