Azam Tigers FC will not get any penny from Be Forward Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets for the transfers of goalkeepers, Nenani Juwaya and Ernest Kakhobwe, unless the Kau Kau prove that the players are Under-23.<\/p>\n
The goal-minders have since taken over number one positions at their respective new employers, and were featured over the weekend in opening matches of the TNM Super League.<\/p>\n
Responding to Tigers\u2019 outcry on how Bullets and Wanderers signed the two players, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Transfer Matching Systems Manager, Casper Jangale, said Tigers were not entitled to transfer fees since the players had no contracts with the club.<\/p>\n
Jangale said Tigers can only claim a training compensation upon proving that Juwaya and Kakhobwe are aged 23 or below.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition, Tigers should also provide what we call a player passport, which outlines the player\u2019s career progression. It is upon fulfilling such requirements that they can claim the compensation,\u201d Jangale explained.<\/p>\n
He said such developments should serve as a reminder to all clubs to put players on contracts.<\/p>\n
Tigers Technical Director, Robin Alufandika, admitted that the two players were not on contracts as the Kau Kau could not afford it.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has always been our wish to provide all our players with contracts. But without money, we cannot tie a player down to a contract. The sponsorship we get does not cover all those needs,\u201d he observed.<\/p>\n
Alufandika then warned Bullets and Wanderers to tread carefully on the matter since they will go back to Tigers at some point looking for more players.<\/p>\n
Wanderers Vi c e – Team Manager, Steve Madeira, said his team agreed personal terms with Juwaya as a free agent and did not see the need to talk to Tigers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe gave him an offer and he was happy with it. So, he is our player,\u201d Madeira said.<\/p>\n
