{"id":2255,"date":"2015-05-12T08:41:20","date_gmt":"2015-05-12T08:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=2255"},"modified":"2015-05-12T08:41:20","modified_gmt":"2015-05-12T08:41:20","slug":"22-graduate-in-rugby-coaching","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/05\/12\/22-graduate-in-rugby-coaching\/","title":{"rendered":"22 graduate in Rugby coaching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rugby Football Union now has 22 more rugby coaches after Get Into Rugby training conducted at Saint Andrews High School in Blantyre over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The course drew participants from as far as Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Salima, and Zomba.<\/p>\n<p>Facilitator for the training, World Rugby and Rugby Africa coach, Eric Situma from Kenya, said he was impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the participants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey showed that they have passion for the game and want to know more,\u201d Situma said.<\/p>\n<p>Situma also hailed Rugby Football Union for its effort in developing the sport in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am particularly impressed with the involvement of the youth in the development programmes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe future of the sport lies in the youth hence the need to train them in the basics of the sports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rugby Football Union development officer, Russell Suter, said following the graduation of the 22, Malawi now has 51 qualified coaches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn all, Malawi now has 51 new rugby coaches qualified at either Get Into Rugby or Level 1. A number of coaches did both courses. This include three women,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSunday saw 22 coaches qualify as level 1 rugby coaches .
