Newly-promoted Super League side, Max Bullets have turned to Patrick Kulemeka to take charge of the team in their maiden Super League campaign, after parting ways with Leo Mpulula last week.<\/p>\n
Bullets\u2019 owner Max Kapanda on Monday confirmed Kulemeka\u2019s appointment.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was already in our plans before Mpulula came in. We believe he has what it takes to help us remain in the Super League next season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kapanda added that Kulemeka\u2019s capture would help instill discipline in the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cDiscipline is paramount to success. We are also a team without a sponsor, therefore, we need to maintain a good level of discipline to woo sponsors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kapanda also clarified that they let Mpulula go because he was allegedly interfering in the running of the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was a coach and [behaving as] player agent at the same time. He has taken all the players he brought to the club and moved them to Lilongwe,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Mpulula insisted that he left because the club had not adhered to his advice to offer the players one-year contracts instead of three-year contracts at K100,000.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Caf B Licence and International Football Diploma (obtained in Hungary) holder, Kulemeka, said he was ready for the challenge.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy priority would be to instill discipline in the players. One of the conditions of my job is to keep the team in the league, therefore, I will make sure that the players should understand the game. They should understand the challenges the team is facing and know how to overcome them. There were used to a different methodology during pre-season training, but I have seen areas to work on and I will use the players available,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kulemeka had Super League experience with University Football Club.<\/p>\n
He has also coached Poly FC, had a stint in Swaziland and has also served as Play Soccer Malawi director, Football Association of Malawi football Development Officer and Surestream Academy Manager.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
