{"id":22293,"date":"2016-04-09T08:57:58","date_gmt":"2016-04-09T06:57:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=22293"},"modified":"2016-04-09T08:57:58","modified_gmt":"2016-04-09T06:57:58","slug":"womans-mysterious-death-worries-nkope","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/04\/09\/womans-mysterious-death-worries-nkope\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman\u2019s mysterious death worries Nkope"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A sense of fear has gripped Chiwalo village in Traditional Authority Nankumba in Mangochi following the disappearance and then subsequent killing of a woman who was cleaning kitchen utensils at Nkope beach on Lake Malawi.<\/p>\n<p>In a phone interview, Group Village Headman Chiwalo identified the woman as Alvis Bulahim.<\/p>\n<p>According to Chiwalo, Bulahim met her fate on April 4 2016 at around 5pm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We reported the matter to game rangers. Together with the people, they conducted a night long search only to find the head of the woman and a mutilated arm on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Burial of the remains took place immediately but the people here are so worried with this kind of death,&#8221; Chiwalo said.<\/p>\n<p>Monkey Bay Police also confirmed the development.<\/p>\n<p>There are, however, suspicions among others that the woman may have been killed by crocodiles which have become a menace in some parts of the district.<\/p>\n<p>A source in the village said that about six years ago a relation of the woman was also killed by a crocodile on the same Nkope beach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A sense of fear has gripped Chiwalo village in Traditional Authority Nankumba in Mangochi following the disappearance and then subsequent killing of a woman who was cleaning kitchen utensils at Nkope beach on Lake Malawi.
