Gospel singer Maggie Mangani has added her voice to the state of piracy in the country.<\/p>\n
Mangani, who has been in the music industry for close to 10 years now revealed that his latest album Mundiyendere <\/em>which she released last year has also been pirated.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is not easy for artists these days to make ends meet. They are investing a lot of money to produce albums but all this money is going down the drain because of piracy. Some of the songs in my album have been pirated,\u201d said the singer.<\/p>\n Mangani said she has improved a lot since she started performing and believes that she is making positive steps.<\/p>\n \u201cLooking back to where I have come from, I would say I have improved a lot. There is a change and I am now looking at appealing to all people and not only Malawians and at the same time target performances outside the country,\u201d said Mangani.<\/p>\n The \u2018Zatha Zonse\u2019 star said she will be launching Mundiyendere at Sheaffer ICA Marquee in Lilongwe on May 1, 2016.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a tour but for now I am starting with Lilongwe looking at the resources I have. But I will launch the album in Mzuzu, Blantyre and Zomba,\u201d said Mangani.<\/p>\n The 11-track album was recorded by Joseph Tembo at Groove Magic in Blantyre and features songs such as \u2018Zidzayendanso,\u2019 \u2018Simukudziwa Inuyo,\u2019 \u2018Fungatirani,\u2019 and \u2018Mwandiyiwalitsa.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cI have tried as much to utilise different genres so as to appeal to all people and because of the popularity of the Nigerian style I decided to use it as well in the song \u2018My Godoo!\u2019.I have also dug deeper and fused in some of the traditional dances in the country,\u201d said the singer.<\/p>\n Mangani said her previous albums Zatha Zonse <\/em>and Chisomo Chake Nchokwanira<\/em>, she sold more DVD copies than CDs but it was different with the latest album where she has sold more CDs.<\/p>\n Some of the artists the singer worked with in the latest album are Allan Chirwa in \u2018Alimom\u2019mo,\u2019 and Sam Maliza in \u2018You\u2019re the Lord.\u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Gospel singer Maggie Mangani has added her voice to the state of piracy in the country.
