The transfer window might have closed on Thursday, but Big Bullets Technical Advisor, Billy Tewesa, has declared war on eternal rivals, Be Forward Wanderers, after they snatched attacker Jaffalie Chande from the People\u2019s Team.<\/p>\n
With Bullets having earlier signed striker Muhamad Sulumba from Blantyre United via Wanderers, it seems there is no love lost between the Blantyre giants going into the 2016 season. Tewesa suggested so.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have crossed the line. They took our coach [Elia Kananji] and now Chande. We did not want to hit back because we are disciplined. We did not want to bring chaos on the transfer market,\u201d Tewesa said.<\/p>\n
Wanderers hired Kananji in 2015 season after he appeared to have fallen out with the team\u2019s executive committee, which eventually hired Nsanzuwrimo Ramadhan. The Burundian eventually picked a job as Flames Assistant Coach last season.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey did not own Sulumba. We respect them, but there is always a limit. If we want, we can even sign their star player today. There are many players from their camp who are interested in joining us. We can hit back,\u201d Tewesa added.<\/p>\n
Bullets have since rejected K700,000 which Wanderers offered to buy out the remaining months of Chande\u2019s contract, according to Weekend Nation. Wanderers might not be able to register the player until he becomes a free agent.<\/p>\n
Wanderers vice-Team Manager, Steve Madeira, on Friday advised Bullets to understand that football is a unifying sport, saying the Nomads did not violate any transfer regulations when getting Chande on board.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were not retaliating. Chande was the missing link in our team. There was nothing sinister. Bullets have no chance of signing our players. All our players have 12 months or more remaining on their contracts and once the season starts, we will extend their contracts,\u201d Madeira said.<\/p>\n
While the domestic transfer window is closed, players can be signed outside the window if negotiations started during the regulation time, and if they are also into the last six months of their contract.<\/p>\n
Fifa transfer regulations article 18 IV, states that \u201ca club intending to conclude a contract with a professional must inform the player\u2019s current club in writing before entering into negotiations with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
It adds: \u201cA professional shall only be free to conclude a contract with another club if his contract with his present club has expired or is due to expire within six months.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
