{"id":21870,"date":"2016-04-02T08:46:25","date_gmt":"2016-04-02T06:46:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=21870"},"modified":"2016-04-02T08:46:25","modified_gmt":"2016-04-02T06:46:25","slug":"maize-lorry-overturns-in-nkhata-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/04\/02\/maize-lorry-overturns-in-nkhata-bay\/","title":{"rendered":"Maize lorry overturns in Nkhata Bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 55-year-old driver on Easter Monday last week survived a road traffic accident when the lorry he was driving overturned at around 14:00 hours at Luwazi along the Mzuzu-Nkhata Bay road.<\/p>\n<p>Police have identified the driver as Philemon Msiska from Kondazimu village in Chief Kabunduli\u2019s area in Nkhata Bay.<\/p>\n<p>Msiska was driving an AF Ashok Leyland government lorry MG 510 which was carrying 300 bags of maize.<\/p>\n<p>An eye witness disclosed that the vehicle which was coming from Mzuzu going to Nkhata Bay overturned after the driver failed to control it while descending a slope.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vehicle hit road embankment and it overturned,\u201d said the witness.<\/p>\n<p>Following the impact, the vehicle\u2019s cab was extensively damaged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 55-year-old driver on Easter Monday last week survived a road traffic accident when the lorry he was driving overturned at around 14:00 hours at Luwazi along the Mzuzu-Nkhata Bay road.
