Sponsor Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC) Wednesday stepped in to help Big Bullets persuade top striker, Chiukepo Msowoya, into signing a one-year contract extension, making him among the club\u2019s highest earners.<\/p>\n
Bullets Chairperson, Sammy Chilunga and NMC, Chairperson, Konrad Buckle, confirmed that Msowoya\u2014who is an asset for club and country\u2014agreed to extend the contract, while keeping his options for a foreign move open.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Buckle\u2014in what appeared to be a thinly-veiled reference to the departure of Jaffalie Chande to rivals, Be Forward Wanderers\u2014stressed that they would not let go any player they \u201care fully interested in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chilunga added that they had tied down 28 players to contracts to end speculations over possible more departures from the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe [Msowoya] prays with me and prays for me when I am low. I knew he also has trust in me. Money is not a motivating factor\u2014if this was the case, Bullets could have folded as has been the case with other teams,\u201d Chilunga explained.<\/p>\n
The Bullets, who bought Amadu Makawa (from Dedza Young Soccer), Ernest Kakhobwe (Azam Tigers), John Lanjesi and Emmanuel Zoya ( both from Civo United), might sign three more players.<\/p>\n
Bullets lost the attacker Chande to the rivals after the People\u2019s Team reportedly failed to meet his K3 million signing-on fee demand.<\/p>\n
Chande appears to be settling down at Wanderers as he trained with them yesterday.<\/p>\n
Msowoya\u2019s advisor and Bullets technical director, Billy Tewesa, confirmed that the club agreed to release Msowoya in the event that foreign clubs, such as South Africa\u2019s Bloemfontein Celtic, live up to their promise to invite him for further trials in June.<\/p>\n
\u201cBullets is a club that does not believe in standing in the way of players who do not want to play for Bullets. It is for this reason that we released Chande,\u201d Tewesa said.<\/p>\n
