{"id":21400,"date":"2016-03-25T13:11:51","date_gmt":"2016-03-25T11:11:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=21400"},"modified":"2016-03-25T13:11:51","modified_gmt":"2016-03-25T11:11:51","slug":"amfumu-seeks-to-conquer-capital-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/03\/25\/amfumu-seeks-to-conquer-capital-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Amfumu seeks to conquer Capital City"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Poet and <em>Times Radio <\/em>presenter Kenneth Khondiwa popularly known as Amfumu storms Lilongwe CCAP Hall on Sunday to launch a CD and DVD of his debut poetry album <em>Anaponda ndi Mapazi Satana<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The poet, who hosts a poetry programme <em>Bwalo la Alakatuli <\/em>on <em>Times Radio <\/em>said on Wednesday that he was set for the launch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am excited; I have been waiting for this day and I thank God that that day is here. I have worked hard and have practised and so it\u2019s all good,\u201d said Khondiwa.<\/p>\n<p>His launch in Lilongwe comes barely three weeks after he launched the album at Chrichi Gardens in Blantyre where he is reported to have attracted a huge audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy that I am launching a double after the world celebrated the World Poetry Day. There were no activities on the day and so this is one of the activities celebrating this day despite that it is a launch,\u201d said the poet.<\/p>\n<p>The DVD for <em>Anaponda ndi Mapazi Satana <\/em>has 10 poems while the CD has 20 poems.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the poems people can sample in the album are \u2018Maloto,\u2019 \u2018DJ Wakushower,\u2019 \u2018Tisewere ndi Maina,\u2019 \u2018Ndakatulo Yangayi,\u2019 \u2018Zinthu Zakwera Mtengo,\u2019 and \u2018Akachisuta.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Some of the poets set to spice up the launch include Hudson Chamasowa, Samuel Joseph, Raphael Sitima, Sylvester Kalizang\u2019oma, Michael Benjala, Wamtali Savala Gogoda, Yohane Pangani and Patwell Phiri.<\/p>\n<p>He said there will also be GYV Dancing Crew and mimicker Mr India.<\/p>\n<p>Poetry has of late gained ground attracting massive audiences although some quarters have said poets need to slow down as others are producing half-baked material.<\/p>\n<p>Others have also pointed out that some poets are losing direction mistaking comics for poetry.<\/p>\n<p>However, some poets have come out to say that things have changed and that what was on the ground now is another type of poetry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Poet and Times Radio presenter Kenneth Khondiwa popularly known as Amfumu storms Lilongwe CCAP Hall on Sunday to launch a CD and DVD of his debut poetry album Anaponda ndi Mapazi Satana.
