Illovo Dwangwa Club has sued Black Missionaries Band Limited as well as its lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani.<\/p>\n
According to a court document which The Daily Times <\/em>has accessed dated March 15, 2016, Illovo Dwangwa Club has sued the reggae group and its vocalist for their failure to refund a sum of K1.2 million performance fees.<\/p>\n This follows Blacks\u2019 failure to perform at Illovo Dwangwa Club having already been paid by Illovo Dwangwa Club all the performance fees in full.<\/p>\n The document filed by D&A Attorneys indicates that Illovo Dwangwa Club is claiming a refund plus interest on the said amount at the current bank lending rate from the date owing to the date of full payment, K180,000 as collection charges and court fees on summons among others.<\/p>\n The reggae group has been given up to eight days to respond to the summon.<\/p>\n Efforts to speak to Illovo Dwangwa Club officials proved futile Thursday.<\/p>\n Anjiru said yesterday that they were yet to get the summon but confirmed talking to officials from Illovo Dwangwa Club.<\/p>\n \u201cWe talked to the officials from Illovo Dwangwa Club and we have agreed that we will refund the money,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Black Missionaries were expected to perform at Illovo Dwangwa Club on January 1 but they failed and according to Anjiru, they had a breakdown.<\/p>\n \u201cOur failure to perform there was not deliberate. We had a breakdown and having failed we asked them to arrange for another date but this did not work in time so we will refund the money,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Meanwhile the reggae group will tomorrow perform at Mwanza Motel and then on Sunday at New Village House in Blantyre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Illovo Dwangwa Club has sued Black Missionaries Band Limited as well as its lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani.
