{"id":21388,"date":"2016-03-25T12:57:25","date_gmt":"2016-03-25T10:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=21388"},"modified":"2016-03-25T12:57:25","modified_gmt":"2016-03-25T10:57:25","slug":"airtel-trace-music-star-entry-period-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/03\/25\/airtel-trace-music-star-entry-period-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Airtel Trace Music Star entry period extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The entry period in the Airtel Trace Music Star has been ex\u00adtended from March 27 to April 17.<\/p>\n<p>Airtel Malawi Brand and Communications Manager Isa\u00adbel Kachinjika said they have extended the period in light of the overwhelming response they have received in season 2.<\/p>\n<p>Kachinjika said they are an\u00adticipating the best in season 2 and that the event will be bigger and better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so excited with the response generated by the second season of Airtel Trace Music Star. It is due to this phenomenal re\u00adsponse that we have extended the deadline,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Kachinjika said over the past week they have been receiving feedback from some contestants saying that they need more time to perfect their performances through Karaoke practice before submitting their final entries.<\/p>\n<p>She said among other things, the revelation of the Top 10 will be done after April 17 and that this unit will perform live at a grand show from which the judg\u00ades would come up with the best five.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kachinjika, more details about the top 10 show and grand finale will be re\u00advealed as the days progress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking forward to having the best show ever this season. And with this extension I urge our contestants to keep au\u00additioning and drumming up their supporters to keep voting in or\u00adder to help them stand a chance to make their dreams come true,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Kachinjika further disclosed that the top 10 contestants will be identified by an independent pan\u00adel of judges who will be revealed at the Top 10 show in April.<\/p>\n<p>However, she said public votes will also contribute towards pushing contestants into the top 10.<\/p>\n<p>Last year the winner on the lo\u00adcal front was Sam Mjura Mkan\u00addawire, who pocketed K14 mil\u00adlion.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to represent the country on the Pan African battle where he came sixth.<\/p>\n<p>The winner was Tanzania\u2019s Mayunga Andrew Nalimi, who got a Universal Music recording contract with US artist Akon.<\/p>\n<p>This year K15 million has been put up with the top win\u00adner pocketing K10 million while second and third will receive K3 million and K2 Million respec\u00adtively.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the top national winner will travel to Lagos, Ni\u00adgeria to compete at the Pan Afri\u00adcan grand show.<\/p>\n<p>This year the winner will re\u00adceive a recording contract and mentorship from US singer Keri Hilson.<\/p>\n<p>Niger is a new recruit this year joining Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Zambia.<\/p>\n<p>Airtel Trace Music Star is a ground breaking pan-African music talent search competition where subscribers on the Airtel network audition via their mobile handsets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The entry period in the Airtel Trace Music Star has been ex\u00adtended from March 27 to April 17.
