The family of the late renowned gospel singer Grace Chinga yesterday pleaded with members of the public to stop pirating her new songs whose albums are not yet on the market.<\/p>\n
The family said they were saddened by the recent development that some people had pirated Chinga\u2019s music which was currently selling in some places.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe plead with pirates to stop this, we are still in mourning. The two albums are not yet on the market and the songs have not yet been mastered. The pirates should consider us because Grace left behind children, who are still in school and will need support,\u201d said late Chinga\u2019s brother, Joseph.<\/p>\n
Joseph said they were working hard to put the two albums on the market as soon as possible and that they were currently putting resources together.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll we ask people is to stop buying the pirated songs. The songs as I said have not been finalised, they have to be mastered otherwise by next month people will start sampling the original songs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Joseph said that they were also targeting launching the two albums through late Chinga\u2019s daughter Miracle, who has potential to carry on from where her mother stopped.<\/p>\n
He said at the moment Miracle is busy with studies as she will be writing her form four examinations in June this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t push her now because she has to concentrate on studies but once she finishes then she will be the one launching her late mother\u2019s albums. People should also know that Grace\u2019s last born is in standard seven while Steve completed his secondary education but they all will need support,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Joseph said they were not in a hurry to launch the two albums as late Chinga had standards so they want to maintain these standards.<\/p>\n
Khathwa Aligiza, who produced one of Grace\u2019s albums called on Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma) to assist the family.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can assure you that the other album which I produced through Alimoso Studio is safe and I have not yet given the family the master CD. The pirated one was produced by Joseph Tembo but then the master was already given to late Chinga.<\/p>\n
We will work hand in hand with Cosoma to find the pirates for the other songs because this is stealing and killing Grace\u2019s family,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Aligiza said the album which is with him has 10 songs but it was yet to be given the title track.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the songs is \u2018Ndulu,\u2019 where we only took a stanza which was used for the tribute by the different artists. Actually Miracle features in some of the songs. But I still say that the law should take its course. At the moment there is no option but to fasten the process of the release,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile Pastor Isaac Mpazula, who is the uncle to late Chinga, has hailed people for the support they were given during the singer\u2019s funeral ceremony.<\/p>\n
