{"id":20880,"date":"2016-03-18T12:06:04","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T10:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=20880"},"modified":"2016-03-18T12:06:04","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T10:06:04","slug":"q-malewezis-album-to-be-available-on-itunes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/03\/18\/q-malewezis-album-to-be-available-on-itunes\/","title":{"rendered":"Q Malewezi\u2019s album to be available on iTunes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lilongwe-based spoken word poet, Q Malewezi, who is set to launch his album <em>People <\/em>on April 2, 2016 at Bingu International Conference Centre, has revealed that the album will be pre-released on online platforms ITunes, Amazon and Google Play among others.<\/p>\n<p>The celebrated poet; educator music producer and event manager said he was excited with the development, adding that the album will be released on the online platforms tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>He said, apart from Amazon and ITunes, the other online platforms are Tidal, Groove Deezer, Apple Music, Spotify and Shazam.<\/p>\n<p>According to Q, who recently released the album\u2019s track list on social media platforms Facebook and Twitter; People will be available on several online platforms for fans to stream, download and purchase.<\/p>\n<p>He said he has also done so to give people a chance to appreciate the album leading up to the official launch.<\/p>\n<p>The album features Faith Mussa and Marlen Chimombo and 29-year-old visual artist Corey \u2013 Glass Smith, who illustrated the album\u2019s hard-hitting cover art.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the poets spicing up the launch include Beneditco Wokoma-atani Malunga,, Menes La Plume, Robert Chiwamba, Emmanuel Banda, Sabrina Tambala, Julius Banda and special guest Vangile Gantsho from South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The poet said autographed copies of the <em>People <\/em>album and other merchandise will also be available for sale at the venue.<\/p>\n<p>The tickets for the launch are selling at K5,000 for standard and K10,000 for VIP at Ulendo, Foodworths and Crossroads Hotel Business Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Q, a pioneer on the spoken word poetry scene, already has two published poetry anthologies; <em>The Road Taken <\/em>and <em>Little Discoveries <\/em>to his artistic repertoire.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past year, Q was also featured on CNN\u2019s African Voices, BBC World, NME Magazine and The Travel Channel and was <em>consequently <\/em>awarded an Honorary Doctorate for his contribution to the creative arts by Mzuzu University.<\/p>\n<p>The poet has recited original works at events such as Poetry Africa, AfrWeka Poetry Festival, Harare International Festival of Arts, Word N Sound Poetry Festival and Lake of Stars Arts Festival.<\/p>\n<p>He is a founding member of the Living room Poetry Club in Lilongwe and mentors young poets through his spoken word programme Project-Project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lilongwe-based spoken word poet, Q Malewezi, who is set to launch his album People on April 2, 2016 at Bingu International Conference Centre, has revealed that the album will be pre-released on online platforms ITunes, Amazon and Google Play among others.
