Former Be Forward Wanderers coach, Stuart Mbolembole, has emerged as the favourite to replace Abasi Makawa as Epac head coach.<\/p>\n
Makawa has resigned following a pay dispute, Epac chairperson, Trixon Chiutsi, confirmed the development over the weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have been talking to my bosses about our dues [including other technical panel members]. It is unfortunate that this is happening at a time when I committed to work for the team after they previously dumped me. I have been loyal to the club due to the cordial relationship I had with the owner [Dean Josaya- Banda], but I can\u2019t do otherwise because I am starving like I am not working,\u201d Makawa said.<\/p>\n
However, Chiutsi said he tried to meet the coach to sort out the misunderstandings, but Makawa was reluctant to do so.<\/p>\n
\u201cOfficially, he has not written a letter for his resignation. If that is the case, we cannot do otherwise, but allowing him to go and we will get another coach,\u201d Chiutsi said.<\/p>\n
Mbolembole and former Nyasa Big Bullets, Silver Strikers and Civo United coach, Gilbert Chirwa, have since been linked with the job. Benjamin Kumwenda is also another option for the Lilongwe outfit.<\/p>\n
Epac survived relegation last season in a dramatic fashion after beating Dedza Young Soccer 2-1 at Civo Stadium. They survived with 30 points, just a single point above Dedza and Mzuni FC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
