Renowned \u00a0musician Piksy real name Evans Zangazanga has been enjoying the fruits of mobile company Airtel Malawi as its brand ambassador for close to two years.<\/p>\n
However, mist surrounds the renewal of his contract with the company which expired last year in November.<\/p>\n
Sources informed The Daily Times Wednesday that Piksy\u2019s contract has not been renewed.<\/p>\n
Piksy who has been involved in composing several songs for Airtel including the Yabooka project said yesterday that his contract had been put on hold.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe contract is yet to be renewed after expiring in November last year. Actually I was told that it has been put on hold and that they are still discussing and so I am still waiting from them. With the contract expiring in November I still have been working with them through a grace period of three months,\u201d said the Uncle Short One,\u2019 hitmaker.<\/p>\n
He said he could not comment much on the issue as he was still waiting from Airtel Malawi to tell him whether the will renew the contract or not.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have other proposals on my table but I am yet to executive them because I am waiting from Airtel Malawi. Actually having been working on a grace period for months I thought I would get feedback last month when the new financial year starts for most companies but I have heard nothing,\u201d said Piksy.<\/p>\n
But when told that his contract has been terminated according to sources at Airtel Malawi, Piksy said he had no idea and that he was still waiting for information having been told that his contract had been put on hold.<\/p>\n
Airtel Malawi Brands and Communications Manager Isabel Kachinjika could not comment yesterday saying they will release communication on the issue very soon.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile the artist has revealed that he has signed a contract with Usaid alongside 14 other people which includes traditional leaders and sports personalities as champions of population and planning.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am among the 15 people who have been selected as champions or ambassadors for population and planning by Usaid. As artists, there is me and Skeffa Chimoto and the others are sports personalities and traditional leaders,\u201d said Piksy.<\/p>\n
He said he could not divulge more information but added that they will be trained before embarking on the project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
