The story is now over. TNM Super League reigning champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, have finally bought Civo United defenders, John Lanjesi and Emmanuel Zoya at an undisclosed fee.<\/p>\n
Civo acting general secretary, Charles Mwenda, Bullets vice general secretary, Kelvin Moyo and Super League of Malawi (Sulom) general secretary, Williams Banda, confirmed the transfers.<\/p>\n
Bullets held talks with Civo for a month, with the teams reportedly disagreeing on the K4 million transfer fee pegged for each defender.<\/p>\n
Mwenda confirmed to have released Lanjesi and Zoya on a pre-condition that Civo will sign Bullets midfielders, Jelesi Lufeyo and Ian Chinyama on loan deals.<\/p>\n
\u201cDeal done. There is a good relationship between us. We have been talking to Bullets in a professional way. We didn\u2019t want to hurry by letting our players go because these were instrumental to our team. We will miss them, but life has to move on,\u201d Mwenda said.<\/p>\n
However, Moyo said they will comment on the transfers during this weekend\u2019s Nyasa Challenge Cup.<\/p>\n
Bullets take on Dynamos from Zimbabwe on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium followed by a return match on Sunday at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust come on Saturday and appreciate our new-look team,\u201d Moyo said.<\/p>\n
Banda acknowledged receiving documents from both clubs over the players\u2019 transfers.<\/p>\n
Zoya said he was expected to be in Blantyre yesterday to start training with Bullets.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will miss my club Civo. I have spent 12 years at Civo, captaining the team for four years and winning some trophies, but sometimes in life one has to take some challenges somewhere. I will work hard for them [Bullets] and they will appreciate my role,\u201d Zoya said.<\/p>\n
