Despite the hullaballoo surrounding his appointment, Nyasa Big Bullets new coach, Franco Ndawa, says his background as a soldier will help him overcome differences that were exposed in the executive committee following his hiring.<\/p>\n
Ndawa was unveiled at Bullets on Friday at Kamuzu Stadium, a week after the People\u2019s Team indicated that they had promoted Lloyd Nkhwazi to head the coaching panel.<\/p>\n
The former Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers mentor eventually took charge of Bullets training session for the first time on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Bullets, like other Super League sides, have been desperate to hire a coach with Caf B licence or its equivalent in line with Club Licencing System, which the Football Association of Malawi (Fam) is championing.<\/p>\n
However, Ndawa\u2019s appointment exposed flaws in Bullets\u2019 executive with most members expressing their ignorance while others backed Nkhwazi.<\/p>\n
The former Red Lions coach said he was not worried with officials that were not favouring his appointment.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was born a soldier and I will die a soldier. I have got nothing to do with those guys that don\u2019t like me. I have come here to work as a coach and as a soldier, who is more determined to work and get results,\u201d he said<\/p>\n
Ndawa said it was a blessing in disguise that he had returned to his roots having played for in Bullets in 1982.<\/p>\n
He also promised to build on the success which demoted coaches Mabvuto Lungu and Nkhwazi set.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will take off from there. I could have been here by last year, but due to some commitments, I did not come. With God all things all are possible. If we join hands as a team we will produce wonders,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Bullets technical director, Billy Tewesa, said Ndawa was one of the best coaches in the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to thank our executive, headed by Sam Chilunga, for bringing a coach of his calibre,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Bullets will face Dynamos of Zimbabwe this weekend in Ndawa\u2019s first assignments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
