{"id":19446,"date":"2016-02-23T12:41:41","date_gmt":"2016-02-23T10:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=19446"},"modified":"2016-02-23T12:41:41","modified_gmt":"2016-02-23T10:41:41","slug":"jessie-kabwila-charged-with-treason","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/02\/23\/jessie-kabwila-charged-with-treason\/","title":{"rendered":"Jessie Kabwila charged with Treason"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi Congress Party Publicist Jessie Kabwila who was arrested by police Monday has been charged with Treason.<\/p>\n<p>Kabwila has since been released on bail Tuesday morning after spending a night in police custody at Kanengo.\u00a0Monday evening MCP Secretary General Gustave Kaliwo told Times News that he signed for Kabwila\u2019s bail but that she could not be released until\u00a0Tuesday\u00a0morning.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Kabwila has been ordered to report back to police on Friday this week.<\/p>\n<p>The police are still searching for her co-suspect Louis Chakwantha who is believed to have sought political asylum at the Germany embassy in Lilongwe since Monday afternoon soon after parliament was adjourned.<\/p>\n<p>And on his facebook page MCP president Lazarus Chakwera thanked Malawians for rallying behind the party during the time Kabwila was in custody.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi Congress Party Publicist Jessie Kabwila who was arrested by police Monday has been charged with Treason.
