There was drama on Thursday evening at Kamuzu International Airport when Japanese versatile attacker, Genki Nakamura, arrived ahead of a proposed move to Be Forward Wanderers.<\/p>\n
Nakamura arrived around 6 pm, but there was no one to welcome him and he looked like a lost child. Some Silver Strikers officials came to his rescue in an attempt to hijack the deal.<\/p>\n
This did not go well with Nomads officials and they followed the player to one of Silver official’s houses, claiming the player was in the country for trials at Wanderers.<\/p>\n
Wanderers general secretary, Mike Butao, who was in Lilongwe on Thursday, claimed he travelled to the Capital City to welcome the player.<\/p>\n
“Actually, I am in Lilongwe to welcome him. Nakamura will be assessed for two weeks and after that we will see the way forward,” Butao said.<\/p>\n
On his part, Silver treasurer, Fred Kalonga said they went to the airport as a Good Samaritan and not to hijack the deal.<\/p>\n
“Some of the officials at the airport called me that there was a Japanese player, who was mentioning Silver, so we went there and offered him transport. Suddenly, Wanderers officials came to my house and asked for him” Kalonga said.<\/p>\n
