Red Lions chief striker, Innocent Bokosi, has received his employers, Malawi Defence Force\u2019s (MDF) nod to undergo seven-day trials with Mozambican giants, Costa do Sol.<\/p>\n
Lions treasurer, Wakisa Kaisi, confirmed Thursday that the 2015 TNM Super League joint-top scorer was likely to leave for Maputo between today and Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the trials, we will start contract negotiations. He is just waiting for an air-ticket,\u201d Kaisi said.<\/p>\n
Facilitator of the trials, James Nelito Pondamale, confirmed receiving MDF\u2019s blessings for the striker\u2019s trials.<\/p>\n
Costa do Sol, according Pondamale, are looking for a big and strong striker capable of regularly scoring.<\/p>\n
Bokosi finished as the domestic league\u2019s top scorer with 14 goals, at par with Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 Chiukepo Msowoya.<\/p>\n
Bokosi has the physical presence and composure in front of the goal posts. He, however, can do better in being aggressive and his work-rate is also questionable.<\/p>\n
Bokosi did not make the final squad when called for national team trials last July when Malawi hosted Uganda in an Independence Celebrations match at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
If successful at the star-studded Costa do Sol, who finished as league runners-up last season, Bokosi will be assured of compatriot, Chimango Kayira\u2019s company.<\/p>\n
Pondamale has also facilitated trials of Silver Strikers\u2019 Ndaziona Chatsalira and John Banda from Blue Eagles, with Mozambican side Ferroviaro de Nampula.<\/p>\n
