Musician Lucius Banda popularly known as Soldier has said that all is set for the Caribbean reggae and R&B singer Judy Boucher is concert to be held at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe on Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
According to Lucius, the singer is expected to jet into the country this afternoon.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything is set, Judy Boucher is now in Cape Town, South Africa and she will be jetting into the country on Friday,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Lucius will warm up the concert performing first before Judy Boucher\u2019s act.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the moment VIP tickets have sold out, we are still remaining with regular tickets. We want this concert to be historical and being Valentine, we want people to rekindle memories of those days,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Lucius said the show will start in time and that he will perform for close to two hours with Judy Boucher also expected to dish out not less than 15 songs.<\/p>\n
Lucius said Boucher will perform with All Nations Band which has also been backing the country\u2019s South Africa-based reggae musician Born Afrikan real name Nelson Shawa.<\/p>\n
The regular tickets for the concert are selling at K20,000 with K30,000 for VIP.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have tried as much to make it reasonable. We do these concerts not necessarily to put huge entry fees but to give people the much needed entertainment but then we were also looking at the size of the venue which has a capacity of 1,500,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Lucius said the Judy Boucher concert was one of the shows they have put together as Sunbird Sand Music Festival ahead of the main event.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese concerts are also part of fundraising as we look ahead to the main event and all we are saying is for people to watch the space because this year another big artist is coming,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Born in St Vincent in the Caribbean, Boucher\u2019s first solo song \u2018Dreaming of a Little Island\u2019 was a hit in the reggae charts in 1985.<\/p>\n
She is best known for her international hit single \u2018Can\u2019t Be With You Tonight,\u2019 which reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart in April, 1987.<\/p>\n
Apart from Boucher, Lucius and team are also bringing back Jamaican musician Busy Signal later this year, who impressed during the Sunbird Sand Music Festival held at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima last year<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
