Township Rollers on-loan Malawian midfielder, Gerald Phiri Jnr could wait a little longer to debut for his Botswana club as he is also waiting for a work permit.<\/p>\n
Phiri joined Rollers on a four-month loan deal from South African side, Bidvest Wits when he failed to secure a work permit to play in the Absa Premiership.<\/p>\n
But in a new twist of events, the versatile attacker faces similar problems.<\/p>\n
In an interview yesterday, the player\u2019s South African-based agent, Paul Mitchel, was not sure when the former Caps United midfielder would debut in the Be Mobile League.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot, yet he still has some things to clear. He might be frustrated but there is nothing he can do,\u201d Mitchel said.<\/p>\n
Phiri has a two-year contract with Wits after joining from the Zimbabwe giants, Caps last year.<\/p>\n
Efforts to talk to Phiri yesterday proved futile.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old midfielder is among the Flames reliable players under coach Ernest Mtawali.<\/p>\n
The former Be Forward Wanderers winger is expected to be part of the Flames squad to play Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations next month.<\/p>\n
