Barely a few days after demoting coach Mabvuto Lungu, TNM Super League champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, have earmarked former Be Forward Wanderers mentor, Frank Ndawa, as a possible new head coach.<\/p>\n
Bullets are desperate to appoint a coach with a Caf B coaching licence to meet Caf requirements under the Club Licencing System, which Football Association of Malawi (Fam) is enforcing.<\/p>\n
Despite guiding Bullets to the Super League title retention, Lungu falls short of meeting Caf coaching requirements.<\/p>\n
During a meeting reportedly held at Alendo Motel in Blantyre on Sunday, Bullets tackled a number of issues, including the hiring of a coach with a Caf B licence to meet requirements that every Super League coach should have this qualification.<\/p>\n
Bullets chairperson, Sam Chilunga, is reportedly to have chaired the meeting which also agreed to cast the net wider by approaching their former coach, Kinnah Phiri and current Flames assistant coach, Nsanzurwimo Ramadan.<\/p>\n
However, Kinnah is now out of the equation after penning a three-year deal with Mbeya City FC of Tanzania.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe tabled several issues in order to meet the club licencing condit ions. The names of Ramadhan, Ndawa and Kinnah came out. Due to complications surrounding Kinnah and Ramadhan, we might hire Ndawa,\u201d the source stated.<\/p>\n
Ndawa yesterday said discussions were underway with the People\u2019s Team.<\/p>\n
However, the former Azam Tigers mentor was not ready to shed more light in fear of jeorpadising the deal.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs you are aware that I was in Swaziland coaching Malanti FC, let me state that I parted ways with the club due to misunderstandings on other issues with the management of the club. With God, everything is possible I can do better at Bullets,\u201d Ndawa explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cMaybe, you don\u2019t know, let me tell you that this is the first club I played for in the country in 1982 when it was in the Premier Division. It is true that Bullets want my services, but as of now I can\u2019t comment much let\u2019s wait until we reach an agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, Chilunga and his vice-general secretary, Kelvin Moyo, were not ready to comment on the issue.<\/p>\n
Ramadhan yesterday said he was contracted to Malawi government to work for Football Association of Malawi (Fam) as the Flames deputy coach.<\/p>\n
