Be Forward Wanderers\u2019 board of trustees\u2019 chairperson, Rashid Gaffar has challenged players and newly-elected committee members to steer the team to win TNM Super League championship for the first time since 2006 season.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou have been selected to keep things moving. Yes, we won the Carlsberg Cup last season and now we want the league. So to the players and new committee, we will take you to task if you fail to deliver,\u201d he said after ushering in a new committee at Wanderers Club House on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Gaffar said Wanderers would strive to keep Blantyre United striker, Muhammed Sulumba, who was on loan at the club last season, and has since signed a pre-contract with Nyasa Big Bullets.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will fight to keep the best players and a delegation has already been sent to finalise the deal. Otherwise, the players know that they must repay the supporters with good results,\u201d he said as he donated K100,000 to the players for soft drinks.<\/p>\n
Gaffar also took time to unveil former Silver Strikers forward Peter Wadabwa,saying the signing of the player underlined the team\u2019s hunger for success.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Wanderers skipper Francis Mlimbika promised to deliver positive results.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can only talk better when we get results on the pitch,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Wanderers general secretary, Mike Butao, who retained the seat unopposed, said the league championship was their ultimate mission.<\/p>\n
