{"id":18313,"date":"2016-02-08T10:14:16","date_gmt":"2016-02-08T08:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=18313"},"modified":"2016-02-08T10:14:16","modified_gmt":"2016-02-08T08:14:16","slug":"ka-jive-dance-contest-season-3-to-go-national","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/02\/08\/ka-jive-dance-contest-season-3-to-go-national\/","title":{"rendered":"Ka Jive Dance contest Season 3 to go national"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Times Group has promised more goodies in the Ka Jive Dance competition as it plans to go national in season three.<\/p>\n<p>Times Group Chief Commercial Manager Dumisani Ngulube said this on Friday in Blantyre during the official cheque presentation of K1.5 million to the winners of season two \u2013 Twist Dance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeason one was only held in the Southern region while season two extended to the Central region but season three will go as far as Northern and the Eastern regions,\u201d said Ngulube.<\/p>\n<p>He said through the Ka Jive Dance they don\u2019t just want to help uplift the creative industry but empower the youth as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeason two has been very fantastic, we have seen growing numbers through contestants and audience and this has actually motivated us do more as we look forward to Ka Jive season 3,\u201d said Ngulube.<\/p>\n<p>He said Ka Jive Dance Competition is built on the concept of giving the youths a platform to showcase their art of dancing but also help uplift the creative industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Times brand we do not work in reverse gear and so we will be investing more in season 3 to bring more excitement, bring a lot of tasks and challenges,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ngulube then hailed people for the support saying as Times Group they have seen growth in their business.<\/p>\n<p>He also thanked Airtel Malawi for sponsoring the competition starting with season one and then two and they were looking forward to continued sponsorship in season three.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a lot of potential in the youths but the challenge has been the space and this is where Ka Jive has come in. We want to see youths being empowered and be able to generate income,\u201d said Ngulube.<\/p>\n<p>He said many companies are benefiting by utilising the talents of some of the groups to spice up their activities and that they get paid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want these youths to be active and not only wait for the competition but to generate income by participating in different activities. The music videos which are being produced are all utilising these youths to show their art of dancing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Ka Jive Dance Competition season two grand finale powered by Airtel Malawi was held on January 30 at Robin\u2019s Park in Blantyre where six finalists battled it out.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the winners Twist, the other finalists were The Incredibles, Adobe Dance Crew, Salama Africa Dance, Ikuba Dance Crew and Limbanazo Dance Crew.<\/p>\n<p>Airtel Malawi Zonal Business Manager Leslie Tsilizani said the Ka Jive Dance competition season two was a success and are looking forward to season three.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeason two has been successful; we have seen great talent from the youths. And going to season three let\u2019s see what comes up. To us as a brand we appreciate arts and culture and this is why we partnered Times Group in Ka Jive,\u201d said Tsilizani.<\/p>\n<p>A female member of the Twist Dance group Upile Mustafa hailed Times Group and Airtel Malawi for giving the youth a platform to showcase their art of dancing and called on fellow women to come out and participate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year we didn\u2019t have more female dancers and so I urge them to come out and participate in season three.
